WELCOME BACK INDIAN TRAIL SCHOOL

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

2018-19 IS HERE!!! Welcome back to school everyone, we are so excited to start the new school year. A big hello to all of our new families! Coach Henkel and I are looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone. Lots of great things on the horizon for the 18-19 PE program. We also want to welcome and introduce our new PE Teacher Ms. Many. Coach Many comes to us from Braeside and Lincoln school. She is a amazing teacher and coach! We are so lucky to add her to the team and look forward to our community working with her.

Reminders:

Wear proper clothing for class - Gym shoes and weather appropriate clothing

Medical Concerns -  Please see / provide Nurse Kirk with any medical paperwork or medications

Curriculum Overview:

Safety/Procedures/Expectations - Students will be given an overview of Indian Trails' Pe Program and practice our daily routine

Team Building -  Getting to know and work with our classmates

Recess  Activities-   A guide to playing unstructured activities at Indian Trail

Soccer-   Our first sport unit will be soccer

CHAMPS / PBIS :

Indian Trail School uses the CHAMPS/PBIS programs. Our students will periodically review these expectations and will work to be role models within our setting. Both programs use positive reinforcement tools (Tiger Stripes) to reward student behavior.

Fun Fact:

In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that children and adolescents should get at least an hour of physical activity each day. The United Kingdom's National Health Service recommends the same.

Welcome Back To School!!!

WELCOME BACK INDIAN TRAIL! 2012-2013 LOOKS TO BE A GREAT YEAR!
August-September Edition

The Physical Education Wellness Program Is Here
For the past two years, District 112 and its physical educators have been working hard to rework/improve the Physical Education Wellness program in our schools. In May, the physical education curriculum team presented its new plan to the board. The presentation went great! The board was very gracious for our all of our past contributions and excited to see the new curriculum in action. The most notable points of the new plan include:

-Department Vision Refined
-Beliefs Statements Developed
-Power Standards Created
-Health Program Integrated and Reworked Into Physical Education Wellness Department
-Needs Assessed
-Pilot Ideas Propossed

Ragnar For Rory

Before the end of the year we held our first Ragnar for Rory event. We set out on a mission to raise awareness for the Rory David Deutsch Foundation. As a school we worked together and raised over 8,000.00 dollars! The foundation was floored with the amount. We also ran over 664 miles on our event date. Which means that every student averaged around 1.5 miles during their run! The media also jumped on board. Here are some link to the waves we made in our community and beyond.

Most importantly we supported a cause who helps in the research and cure pediatric brain tumors. We did an awesome job. Kudos I.T.!
